First
Builder teams are needed for various jobs that sometimes require a high
degree of skill, but, at other times, merely the ability to accomplish
hard physical labor. Most houses are constructed of cement block with
cement tile or slab roofs. In addition to
masonry jobs, participants may be asked to dig foundations, latrines or
wells.
Some sites have disaster response technical centers where team members
may be needed to assist in the production of cement blocks or roof tiles.
There may also be some demolition and materials reclaimed.
Teams should be prepared to be flexible, as the nature of the manual work
could change.
